Rafael Nadal, the world’s number four, will undoubtedly be in the centre of attention in Montreal on Wednesday, but, with so many questions still surrounding him, it is almost impossible to find any value in the markets that are being offered for his match with Jesse Levine.

The point is that Jesse Levine is simply not good enough to beat Nadal even if nearly everything clicks into its place for him, so staying away from that match might be the wisest decision of them all. However, there is one player that value hunters might want to oppose – and his name is Juan Martin del Potro.

The Argentinian has started his US Open preparations in the best possibly way by winning the title in Washington last week, but that could have actually hindered his chances of winning this week due to the fact that the surface in Montreal is quite different than the one in Washington. With the trip reasonably long, it is hard to believe that the world’s number seven has been able to get everything in order before his first outing – and those who know the result from the battle between Vasek Pospisil and John Isner probably already know the direction in which this reasoning is heading.

Some players do not really struggle after such quick swaps, but Juan Martin del Potro struggled heavily in a very similar situation back March, when he was unable to defeat Tobias Kamke in the first round after making it all the way to the finals in the previous tournament. Ivan Dodig should therefore get his chances against the world’s number seven today – and backers of the Argentinian might easily find themselves in a spot of bother.
