Two days of double headers over another busy IPL Weekend
Saturday 6th April
CSK v Kings XI Punjab
CSK lost their first game at Mumbai on Wednesday, falling 37 runs short of chasing 170 in an odd batting performance.
Kings XI won an incredible game in the “Northern Derby” on Monday against the Delhi capitals when Delhi needed 22 off 21 balls with 7 wickets remaining and lost by 14 runs with Sam Curran taking four wickets.
Kings XI have now won 3 games out of 4.
CSK back at home on their slow spinning pitch are obviously justifiable favourites to rebound and get another win here at 8/11. It looks a fair price with KXIP’s bowling attack looking to be more suited to faster surfaces.
Sunrisers Hyderabad v Mumbai Indians
If the Sunrisers bowling attack, such a strength last year on their run to the final, can improve as it did against Delhi on Thursday, then allied to the destructive Bairstow/Warner partnership at the top of the batting order then the Sunrisers must have a serious chance of winning this edition of the IPL
Mumbai achieved an upset victory over previously unbeaten CSK at home on Wednesday scoring 170 and winning by 37 runs, Behrendorff came into the side on his IPL debut took 2-22 to support Pandya and Malinga
Sunrisers at 5/6 with Skybet are the bet here.
Sunday 7th April
RCB v Delhi Capitals
RCB lost their fourth game in succession against the Royals on Tuesday. And at the time of writing the side has the worst batting average in the IPL and the third worst bowling average. The team has start names but its not very balanced and strategically unsound with the Powerplay bowling particularly weak.
Delhi threw away a winning position against Kings XI on Monday and seem to lack a rounded approach to change strategy when the situation demands. They were then beaten by Sunrisers by 5 wickets on Thursday
A no bet game, its difficult to make a strong case for either team at the odds!
Rajasthan Royals v KKR
Rajasthan beat RCB by seven wickets on Tuesday to record their first win of the season by seven wickets thanks again to a notable contribution from Jos Buttler
KKR play at RCB on Friday after the deadline for writing this report. A formidable outfit in this year’s IPl they should win here at 5/6 to continue their march towards the play offs
