Midweek matches as follows
Tuesday 9th April
CSK v KKR
CSK lead the table after the first two weeks of group games after beating Kings XI Punjab, defending 160 at home thanks to the parsimonious spin bowlers on a gripping track. CSK have 4 wins out of 5
KKR continued their great start to the IPL beating RCB last Thursday. Needing 50 to win in a big chase in the last three overs Andre Russell hit 48 off 13 balls and they won with 5 balls to spare
Both these teams are likely to make the play-offs and this should be a close game as KKR are one of the few teams, with Narine in their ranks, who can compete on CSK’s show pitch. CSK are 10/11 favourites, KKR evens with SkyBet and KKR look the more interesting price.
Wednesday 10th April
Mumbai Indians v Kings XI Punjab
Mumbai had their best win of the season to date when defending 136 to beat Sunrisers by 40 runs on Saturday with Alzarri Joseph having a stunning debut taking 6-12 for a record breaking match winning performance. Mumbai now have 3 wins in 5 games
Kings XI Punjab fell 20 runs short of chasing 160 to win in Chennai, and recorded their second defeat of the season in five games. It was a competitive performance, but 160 on a dry track against the best spin attack in the competition was a tall order
Mumbai can be backed at 10/11 to continue their improving form with Skybet
Thursday 11th April
Rajasthan Royals v CSK
Rajasthan fell well short when only posting 139 against KKR on Sunday, particularly when only losing 3 wickets a total which KKR knocked off easily to win. Rajasthan have now only won one of their five games this IPL so far.
