Sky Sports continue their coverage of greyhound racing by bringing us an evening of racing from Hove on the 14th of May. The race card is topped off by the final of the Regency competition over 695m and we’ll be taking a watching brief on that one in what is sure to be a fantastic race as 6 top class stayers compete. However, we do have a number of free greyhound racing tips for the Hove card. We’ve pulled out 3 big priced dogs which we feel might be somewhat mispriced with perhaps the best of those a 10/1 chance with bet365 that might have a great draw in the race.
The 8:49pm stayers race features a number of dogs that couldn’t quite make the grade in the Regency which has proved to be one of the top competitions of 2013 so far thus has been the quality. Bouncy Bocko goes over the longer distance for the first time and has been installed as the 11/10 favourite and at that price it is easy to oppose.
We’re choosing to oppose with Aayamzalad in trap 6 who can be backed at a very generous 10/1 with bet365. Nothing in the race screams out like it is set to lead but we think Aayamzalad has the best chance of doing so, with the favourite drawn one inside and notoriously slow away.
Aayamzalad has the chance to cut them off from 6 and has been running strongly. If leading, it looks unlikely to be pegged back and we have the added bonus that even if it doesn’t lead it is strong enough to still challenge due to its likely clear run. A time of 41:43s last week gives it solid claims as it did run into trouble in that race.
Another short priced favourite we are taking on is Bridge Ruth in the 8:34pm race who has been priced at 4/7 in the early markets. The draw is a bit of a negative for Ruth as it doesn’t seem to come away too well from trap 5.
Both Vivendi, at 8/1, in trap one and Cagey Lola in trap 6 have fair claims at turning over the jolly and we have just sided with Lola who William Hill have priced at a big 33/1. Vivendi might lead on the inside but if our belief that Bridge Ruth won’t like trap 5 comes true then we are likely to see a nice clear run for Lola in trap 6.
Cagey Lola ran a fantastic race at Sittingbourne only ten days ago where she set the fastest time of the year over their 480m track and she has been shaping as if the extra distance at Hove might suit. A trial of 30:00s on the 9th of May is reasonable and she is definitely open to improvement on that and we imagine it wouldn’t take too much improvement for her to grab the win at a huge price.
The final free greyhound racing tip for the Hove card on Sky Sports comes in the shape of Matties Mate in the 9:04pm race. Airlie Impact, the favourite, hasn’t been drawn too kindly in trap 4 and we can envisage some trouble out wide whilst Matties Mate is likely to get the run of the race on the inside. William Hill offer 10/1 on Matties Mate winning the race.
