Saturday was a day of near misses for our horse racing tips, with two seconds and an Each-Way fourth. On Sunday, we are looking to improve and have three more hot tips lined up, including Lucy Wadham’s The Black Baron (pictured) who is currently a 7/2 (4.50) chance with Coral. Read on for all our racing tips…
3.50 Sedgefield – Hawthorne Bay @ 5/1 (6.00) with Boylesports
4.00 Huntingdon – The Black Baron @ 7/2 (4.50) with Coral
Longshot of the day:
4.30 Huntingdon – Mubrook @ 9/1 (10.00) with Ladbrokes
Hawthorne Bay in the 3.50 at Sedgefield opens our horse racing tips page for Sunday March 3rd, at a current best price of 5/1 (6.00) with Boylesports. This seems generous, given the ten year old’s last time out 4th place. Only beaten 2 1/2 lengths that day, the second placed horse has since gone on to win and looks set for a three figure handicap mark. Based on this form, our selection could easily land this race, especially with today’s jockey taking off a very handy 7lbs.
In the 4.00 at Huntingdon, The Black Baron looks a great bet at current odds of 7/2 (4.50) with Coral. The eleven year old improved considerably last time out to win a Class 3 chase with ease, but he drops back down in class today. The extra two furlongs shouldn’t be an issue and he will enjoy the underfoot conditions, while both of his career wins have come under today’s jockey, Leighton Aspell.
Our Each-Way tip for Sunday March 3rd is Brian Ellison’s Mubrook in the 4.30 at Huntingdon. The eight year old gelding hasn’t won since February 2010 but he has shown glimpses in his last two runs that he might be getting back to something like his best, probably aided by the return to shorter trips. Today’s softer ground will also help his cause (the softer the better) and at the current best price of 9/1 (10.00) with Ladbrokes, I’d say he’s a value bet.
