Ayr Racecourse, Free Horse Racing Tips, February 21stWe’ve taken an early look at the all weather horse racing action on the evening of Thursday February 21st and picked out a couple of decent priced selections, as well as an interesting 10/1 (11.00) overnight chance with Ladbrokes that runs in the 4.20 at Ayr racecourse (pictured). Recommended bets:
6.30 Kempton – Sherjawy @ 7/1 (8.00) with Bet365

9.00 Kempton – Ted’s Brother @ 5/1 (6.00) with BetVictor

Longshot of the day:
4.20 Ayr – Embsay Crag @ 10/1 (11.00) with Ladbrokes

Our opening tip for Thursday February 21st is Sherjawy, a 7/1 (8.00) shot overnight with Bet365 to land the 6.30 at Kempton. Zoe Davison’s veteran gelding may not have won for a quite a while, but he’s a really consistent sort and is always good for at least a place. He’s now a full 15lbs lower than his last winning mark and is also 1lb lower than a much more recent third place over course and distance last month. This doesn’t look like the strongest race and that price looks too big, so that’s why he’s the first of today’s horse racing tips.

Ted’s Brother is the second of Thursday’s free horse racing tips, running in the 9.00 race at Kempton. A 5/1 (6.00) shot with BetVictor overnight, the five year old gelding ran keenly under an inexperienced jockey last time out, but that same pilot gets another chance today and will have learned from the experience, taking off a value seven pounds (and the horse is already bottom weight and receiving plenty all round). Despite pulling hard, he ran on really well towards the finish despite an absence from the track of 108 days, showing enough to suggest that he can step up from that and land a race of this nature.

Our bigger priced longshot tip for Thursday February 21st lines up in a six runner race, an unusual move for this column. But at current best odds of 10/1 (11.00) with Ladbrokes, I think that Embsay Crag is far too big a price in the 4.20 at Ayr and can definitely finish in the front two to reward his followers. The Philip Kirby trained seven year old has only had two runs this season – the first of which was back on Boxing Day, with the second coming at the start of this month. He was disappointing that day, but a reproduction of his Boxing Day effort would see him go close in what looks like a poor race today.
