Today’s horse racing betting tips come from this evening’s meeting at Bath, as well as in the day’s big race – the Group One Oaks Stakes at Epsom – where we have a selection (pictured) lined up at a double figure price. Read on for full details…
8.00 Bath – Excellent Puck @ 9/2 (5.50) with Totesport
9.00 Bath – Shirley’s Pride @ 7/2 (4.50) with Paddy Power
Longshot of the day:
4.00 Epsom – Talent @ 18/1 (19.00) with Stan James
The first of our horse racing betting tips for Friday May 31st runs in the 8.00 at Bath. Jame Osborne’s Excellent Puck looks a great value bet at the current odds of 9/2 (5.50) with Totesport, in a field of just six runners. In my eyes, the colt is the best horse in the lineup and only failed to be competitive last time out as the trip was too far. Draw a line through that and focus on the previous four races, in which he hasn’t been out of the front two. His pedigree suggests that today’s softer ground won’t be a problem either.
An hour later in the 9.00 at Bath, Mick Appleby’s in-form filly Shirley’s Pride looks to have a great chance, at a current best price of 7/2 (4.50) with Paddy Power. She’s three wins from four so far in 2013 and her last time out success at Goodwood was the best so far. Turned out quickly under a penalty, she’s going to be difficult to stop today.
Today’s bigger priced Each-Way betting tip comes in the big race of the day, the 4.00 at Epsom (The Oaks). In our Epsom Oaks preview, we tipped up Ralph Beckett’s filly Talent at 16/1 (17.00) and although she’s generally shorter than that now, Stan James are offering a whopping 18/1 (19.00). She ticks all the boxes required of an Oaks winner and at that price, it would be rude not to have an Each-Way nibble.
