Featuring amongst our horse racing betting tips for Monday July 22nd is a 6/1 (7.00) chance at Ayr, as well as a chestnut mare (pictured) that we think looks far too big a price at current odds of 12/1 (13.00) with Bet365. Read on for the full story…
2.30 Ayr – Beckermet @ 6/1 (7.00) with Bet365
7.50 Windsor – Red Explorer @ 7/2 (4.50) with Ladbrokes
Longshot of the day:
9.00 Beverley – Mey Blossom @ 12/1 (13.00) with Bet365
In the 2.30 at Ayr, Beckermet is the first of Monday’s horse racing betting tips. Ruth Carr’s veteran gelding is now 5lbs lower than when last winning and showed signs last time out that a return to the winners enclosure could be imminent. He stayed on well that day when finishing second at this course (where he’s won twice in the past) over a furlong shorter. The return to 7f will not be an issue and at current odds of 6/1 (7.00) with Bet365, he seems like a good value bet.
Red Explorer is our second betting tip for Monday, running in the 7.50 at Windsor. The colt has enjoyed a decent start to his career, having only finished outside the front two once in six starts, and trainer Charlie Hills is in good form generally. The three year old went up 8lbs for his success at Warwick before running a close second last time out, suggesting that he can be competitive off his new mark (which remains unchanged today). He looks progressive and I fancy him to win this six runner affair at a generous best price of 7/2 (4.50) with Ladbrokes.
Richard Whitaker’s mare Mey Blossom is our bigger priced longshot tip for Monday July 22nd, running in the 9.00 at Beverley. She hasn’t been seen at her best in her last couple of outings, but if she can reproduce either of her efforts in May, which included a course and distance victory, then she would most certainly be on the premises today. She enjoys it here, having won three of her nine races (three from eight over course and distance) and she goes off the same mark as when finishing a neck second at Carlisle four outings ago. The current best price of 12/1 (13.00) with Bet365 is simply too big and is definitely worth an Each-Way play.
