Horse Racing Betting Tips, MusselburghYesterday was a great day for the horse racing betting tips, as both of our recommended bets went in and our Each-Way longshot selection finished second at a huge SP of 25/1! We’re hoping for even more success on Friday August 9th with a couple of strong fancies this evening, as well as a value selection from Musselburgh this afternoon…

Betting Tips:
7.15 Newmarket – Magique @ 7/2 (4.50) with Paddy Power

8.30 Haydock – Gran Canaria Queen @ 7/4 (2.75) with BetVictor

Longshot of the day:
4.00 Musselburgh – Push Me @ 10/1 (11.00) with BetVictor

Jeremy Noseda’s Magique runs in the 7.15 at Newmarket and is the first of today’s horse racing betting tips at a current best price of 7/2 (4.50) with Paddy Power. The filly ran with credit last time out when second at this course, a run which came off the back of a narrow runner-up finish at Kempton. Based on these efforts, she’s clearly in good heart and stepping up in trip today should suit her just fine given that her only career victory so far came over further than those two trips (breeding also suggests the trip will suit). Despite those two second place finishes, her handicap mark remains just 1lb higher than her only winning mark to date and she looks set for victory today.

In the 8.30 at Haydock, Gran Canaria Queen can justify favouritism and land a third victory this summer for new trainer Tim Easterby. The four year old filly is thriving since moving to her new yard and appears today without a penalty for her 4 1/2 length success last time out in a race for apprentice riders. Her current odds of 7/4 (2.75) with BetVictor may not be the biggest, but I just can’t see what is going to beat her today.

Push Me, a six year old mare that runs in the 4.00 at Musselburgh, is our bigger priced Each-Way selection for Friday August 9th. She hasn’t finished out of the places in her last four runs on the flat (including three runner up finishes) and runs off 4lbs lower than her last winning mark. Her last time out effort saw her go close on her first run at this track and the drop in trip back down to a mile should not be a problem, as that’s the distance she last won over. Basically, she just looks too big a price at the current odds of 10/1 (11.00) with BetVictor and I will be surprised if that price is still there come race time.
