Followers of our daily horse racing betting tips were rewarded with an 11/4 SP winner yesterday (advised at 11/2!) as Mash Potato did the business at Newcastle. We have three more tips lined up for Saturday August 17th, including an Amanda Perrett (pictured) trained 16/1 (17.00) outsider with SkyBet, running at Newmarket this afternoon. For full details on this and all of today’s horse racing tips, read on…
3.50 Newbury – Glen Moss @ 6/1 (7.00) with BetVictor
5.15 Perth – Solaras Exhibition @ 5/1 (6.00) with Coral
Longshot of the day:
2.55 Newmarket – Extrasolar @ 16/1 (17.00) with SkyBet
The first of our horse racing betting tips for Saturday August 17th goes in the 3.50 at Newbury. The Charles Hills trained Glen Moss looks a generous price this morning at 6/1 (7.00) with BetVictor, as the colt is in terrific form of late. Fourth in Ascot’s International Stakes last time out, he drops down in class today and last time he ran at this grade (two runs ago) he won with a career best effort. If he produces anything close to that run today, he’ll probably win cosily and the booking of Johnny Murtagh to ride is a further positive.
Solaras Exhibition is the second of today’s horse racing betting tips, running in the 5.15 at Perth. Tim Vaughan’s five year old got back to winning ways last time out with a nice performance to win by five lengths and if he’s in that mood again today, the gelding is going to be hard to stop. He’s in receipt of almost a stone from the favourite who has to shoulder the burden of top weight, so at the current best price of 5/1 (6.00) with Coral this morning, the selection looks like a good value bet.
In the 2.55 at Newmarket, Amanda Perrett’s Extrasolar is our bigger priced Each-Way tip for Saturday August 17th. The three year old is probably overpriced at this morning’s best odds of 16/1 (17.00) with SkyBet, as he’s done nothing but improve all season. A winner three outings back at Goodwood, a repeat of that effort would likely see him finish on the premises here today, despite the step up in class and at the prices, we’re happy enough with place money. But if the gelding has improved again for his last time out third at Leicester, who knows what might happen?
