Those who followed our pre-tournament picks will be glad to know that Lucie Safarova made it through to the semi-finals, which is something that we backed at odds of 29.00, but that’s not what’s going to be on our minds on Friday, which is going to see four splendid players in action during the men’s semi-finals. Roger Federer should be able to beat Milos Raonic in the second one, but what’s going to happen before that is anybody’s guess, so we’re going to recommend a bet on the underdog, Grigor Dimitrov.

The incredibly talented Bulgarian crushed Andy Murray in the previous round, but he won’t be able to do the same to Novak Djokovic, that’s something that we can say with absolute certainty. However, one could easily argue that the Serb has been largely under-performing so far in this event and that he doesn’t look ready to capture the title, which is something that could mean trouble for him in the semi-finals, as Dimitrov will have nothing to lose in that one, while everyone seems to be expecting Djokovic to not only win, but also to win without any serious problems.

In our opinion, the key to this encounter is the match that Djokovic played against Cilic on Wednesday. The Croat has always been among his favorite opponents and he’s improved the overall H2H to 10-0 with his yesterday’s win, but he nonetheless had to fight really hard and dropped two sets, which is rather worrying if you consider that he was the overwhelming favorite in that match. Grigor Dimitrov, the world’s number thirteen, is a more complex player than Cilic – and, if he can get through the first set without falling apart, he should cover the handicap with confidence.
