Tonight’s greyhound racing betting tips come from Sunderland where we are treated to the best night’s racing since the Greyhound Derby ended two weeks ago. It is the continuation of the William Hill Festival at Sunderland and this evening’s card features four different competitions. The added bonus for enthusiasts and punters is that the racing can be viewed live on Racing Post Greyhound TV. Our best bet comes in one of the semi-finals of the William Hill Classic where we can make an excellent bet at 11/4 with the sponsors.

We have a number of free greyhound racing betting tips for the Sunderland evening card for the 13th of July, and in actual fact the calibre of the racing, coupled with the excitement of such an interesting card, makes us want to bet on almost every race but without doubt our favourite bet of the evening comes in the 8:58pm race.

Airtech Alfie was super impressive last week in his first round heat of the Classic, out-trapping the defending champion Loughteen Blanco and making all in one of the fastest times of the evening.

Tonight he will come from trap one with the main competition coming from the impressive Derby runner Shaneboy Spencer in trap 3, with it being key to note that trap two is vacant. Shaneboy Spencer is the favourite but is being slightly over-valued by the bookmakers in my opinion and has, therefore, pushed Airtech Alfie’s price out to 11/4 with William Hill.

Last week Airtech Alfie showed excellent early pace and he is taken to lead Shaneboy Spencer who showed good early last week but perhaps didn’t trap as well. Based solely on last week’s sectionals, Alfie could take a length out of Spencer to the bend and Spencer looks to be the kind of dog who needs to lead. The prices should be a lot closer than 4/5 and 11/4, thus making Airtech Alfie our best bet of the night.

We’re not always overly keen on backing short-priced greyhounds but this evening Calzaghe Davy is a fantastic price at 4/7 to win his heat of the Puppy Plate at 9:32pm.

All factors point to a straight-forward victory for the Ted Soppitt-trained puppy: he has the best early pace in the race, also is the fastest dog in the race, and in general is far classier than this company of race.

Calzaghe Davy’s recent timings around this 450m Sunderland trip would him highly competitive in the Classic running at the same time, nevermind the Puppy Plate. 4/7 may seem short but there is a good chance he will go off shorter so take the price with bet365 as soon as you can.

The last of our main free greyhound racing betting tips also comes in the Puppy Plate, this time in heat 3 at 9:48pm, where Paul Young’s Jaytee Lightning looks like a very good bet coming from trap one.

Jaytee Lightning’s trial runs have been reasonable but looks the best dog in this race when you consider his recent Monmore work and that coupled with a nice draw from trap one where he should break well and be up with the running right from the start.

Trap 2 Glenbane King looks like main danger after trialing faster than the selection but the draw would suggest Lightning can lead him up as well as the likelihood of improvement over this trip. Plus, Jaytee comparative form at Monmore is a fair deal faster than the danger.

bet365 are once again best price about one of our selections and are offering 3/1 about Jaytee Lightning as well as the benefit of their existing ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ offer which protects us if the price drifts.
