The greyhound racing at Romford is where we have chosen to focus our attentions for Friday the 26th of July with a fantastic card on offer full of quality open races. This will be the last of our free greyhound racing betting tips for July due to holiday commitments and we aim to sign off for our mini-break in style with a 10/1 chance forming our best bet of the night. That price can be grabbed with William Hill who also offer us ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ should the starting price drift.
Tunnel Tiger, coming from trap 4, represents an excellent bet at Romford in their 10:11pm race as he reopposes familiar foes and has an excellent profile to make a mockery of the 10/1 odds on offer from William Hill.
Tiger is definitely running well, having recorded 24:16s and 23:99s around this 400m trip at Romford in recent weeks. He ran slower last week but that was a messy race and, in fact, he still beat Shaneboy Ozzy and Glanmire Lad in that race, who both reoppose this evening with Ozzy the current favourite.
Leading your races at Romford really boosts your chances of winning and Tunnel Tiger has a good chance of smashing into an early lead in this race. Recent form has seen him consistently recording sectionals of under 3:70s and it is the consistency that is the main positive as a lot of the competition don’t have that consistency.
The aforementioned favourite, Shaneboy Ozzy, in trap 2 is a fast dog but in this race might have to battle with the quick Bonamassa Rocks in trap 1 for the supremacy along the rails. That early battle might put paid to both chances of grabbing an early lead. Ozzy’s sectionals have been fast, but not extremely so, in recent times, with most sectionals around 3:70s so even if he gets his usual good start the selection still has a chance of leading him.
Glanmire Lad in trap 5 is a great dog who on top form is the best in this race but the problem is that he has become very inconsistent and it is too hard to find him on a good day. In over 20 400m races at Romford, Glanmire Lad has went off favourite in almost all of those and an odds-on favourite in more than half.
Last week, Glanmire Lad went off at his biggest ever Romford price of 5/2 and he is already 4/1 for this race which is definitely a backable price but coming from trap 5 I just don’t think he will clear our selection, Tunnel Tiger in trap 4, especially since his trapping can’t be relied on these days.
Lode Henry, in trap 3, doesn’t seem to break as well as he can at Romford based on his limited runs around the track and Bubbly Rocky, coming from the stripes in trap 6, doesn’t have the early pace to compete and will leave himself too much to do to be competitive in this race.
Whilst this is a really tough race, and Tunnel Tiger certainly doesn’t win the race every time, he is being underestimated by the bookmakers given the make-up of the race and it allows us to make an excellent value bet at the 10/1 on offer with William Hill.
Lucie is often seen having to run on past many greyhounds at Romford but in this race she can put herself in an excellent position from the outset as the sole wide seed with the race not full of early pace.
She will only need to turn close to the front to have a huge chance of taking home the victory as she is the strongest finishing greyhound in the race. Her last 4 races have seen her run in the 24:40s-24:60s on all 4 occasions and a repeat should be good enough for the win in this race.
Coral have opened their book at 4/1 for Swabys Lucie and that seems like an excellent bet at that price.
In the 8:50pm race, you could do a lot worse than back T5 Jaytee Youngy at the 7/1 on offer from Paddy Power. The price seems a little inflated in what is clearly a tough race but Jaytee Youngy ran well, in a good time last week, and he can put himself in a good position early in this race to make it competitive near the end.
