Friday nights at Romford are arguably the consistently best racing racing of the week with race cards full of open races and tonight, Friday the 23rd of August, is no different with 13 races, all but one being open races. The bookmakers have kindly priced a number of the races up early and that allows us to grab some early value with the best of our free greyhound racing betting tips coming in the 8:50pm race where we think the switch back to an inside tap will work wonders for our selection and prove that the 13/8 on offer at Ladbrokes is good value.

In his race last week Guy Gibson was drawn in trap 5, of course not ideal for a railer, and from there he proceeded to find early trouble and with that went his chances as he could only finish 4th, albeit in a time that wasn’t too bad given the race.

Tonight, he is drawn back towards the rails, in fact as close to the rails as you can get in trap one, and from there he can control the 8:50pm race and grab the win with the 13/8 on offer from Ladbrokes looking a good bet.

Excusing his last run, he had won his previous two to that race in good fashion, with notably one of those races coming from trap one, and on both occasions he illustrated good early pace before winning in solid times (24:27s and 24:34s).

Guy Gibson’s early pace is key to this race, he is fast and consistently so, and although trap 2, Landed At Last has a good ping start in his repertoire he is too inconsistent with 3 poorer starts of his last 5 and Gibson is taken to hold Landed At Last early.

None of the other 4 greyhounds seem to have the early pace and draw combination to challenge Guy Gibson and once he hits the lead a look at the races times and profiles of the other greyhounds doesn’t suggest anything can claw him back over the 400m of Romford.

The 13/8 with Ladbrokes may initially sound a short price for Guy Gibson to win the 8:50pm race but he should go off closer to evens (1/1) which in my opinion is more representative of his real price in this race.

The second of our free greyhound racing betting tips comes in the last race of the evening, at 10:40pm, and sees us back Ding Hero to repeat his success last week over course and distance at the 4/1 with Coral.

Head Iton Tom goes as the favourite in trap 2 and loves the rails but the hope is that Ding Hero holds him early and grabs the important early lead on the inside.

Although prior to his success last week, Ding Hero hadn’t been in the best of form, his performance wasn’t out of the ordinary for the greyhound and we are justified in believing he can repeat the run with the time of 35:49s similar to what he has ran in the past.

As an added boost, Ding Hero is 4 from 6 from trap one around Romford’s 575m trip and 4/1 looks a little too big to me.

A race of interest for the Betfair players could be the 10:26pm race where Regal Bailio looks like he could go off extremely short, perhaps even odds on, and we have no reason to believe he is back to his best after a layoff based on his recent trial and A1 appearance.

He hasn’t been showing the sectionals that he can and he may lose the race early and at odds on will be a lay. Alternatively, it might be an idea to back the likely leader in trap one, Sues Rocket, at 9/2 with Ladbrokes.

Finally, two other greyhounds I like but will likely need to see the first price showing are Billis Weasel in the 7:46pm race who should crack out and would be wanting around 5/2 for, and Flawless Floyd in the 8:02pm race who has the ability to win in ease if breaking on level terms and he could be a bet as short as 2/1.
