The Hove greyhound racing card for Wednesday the 7th of August is available to watch live on Sky Sports, with the final of the Sussex Cup being the main highlight at 9:19pm. We’ve previewed that race here. The televised card is full of high quality open races and our main free greyhound racing betting tip of the evening sees us back a 8/1 chance in the final of the ladies competition. The selection is a stand-out price at William Hill.

Zenas Elena impressed last week in the heats when overcoming a poor start to power past the rest of the competition for the victory. This evening she is taken to make a better start and given the make-up of the race have a great chance at winning the race at 8/1 with William Hill.

Elena will go from trap 6 in the 8:49pm and is the sole wide seed in the race which should allow a nice clear run with T5 Toosey Beannie likely to move left from the traps.

Whilst not the fastest from the traps, Zenas Elena can pace up, as demonstrated by a couple of 4:17s sectionals recently. Those sectionals won’t compete with the early pace of T1 Parkwest Angel and T3 Aughacasla Suzi but both those of those bitches can struggle to see out the 515m, and indeed Elena overpowered Parkwest Angel in the heats.

Zenas Elena can grab a good pitch early in the race and prove too strong for the competition, including the 7/4 favourite, Droopys Posh, from trap 4. The 8/1 on offer at William Hill looks like great value.

In the 8:34pm race, Benkaat Blue looks to be a little undervalued by the bookmakers and especially by Paddy Power who offer 9/2 on the greyhound winning the race.

Benkaat Blue can trap well from a number of traps and trap 4 shouldn’t be an issue this evening and he trapped well from there at the end of July in the Sussex Cup first round heats.

Benkaat’s recent sectionals show that he can pace up well and, whilst he can actually lead this race, I would be just as happy if he turned a close second place as he runs strongly.

Paddy Power are a standout price for Zenas Boy in the 19:34pm sprint race and he looks the best greyhound in the race. On the clock he has a number of lengths on the most of the field with Skate On looking like a potential danger if trapping well.

Zenas Boy can be backed at evens (2.0) at Paddy Power with the price already 4/5 elsewhere.

Finally, we will give Blonde Reagan another try in the 8:19pm race after a poor performance when we tipped him in the Romford Champions Stakes. The 6/1 quote from William Hill can’t be turned down as if finding his trapping boots he would go very close.
