The Racing Post Greyhound TV channel focuses its attentions on Coventry and Romford on Wednesday the 24th of July and the bookmakers have priced up a number of the higher graded races and it is with those we have concentrated on for our free greyhound racing betting tips. We’ve went for a big priced selection for our best bet of the day, with a 7/1 chance with Coral really standing out as having a great chance of causing a minor shock at Coventry.

The 7:25pm race at Coventry consists of 5 railers and one wide seed and it is with that sole wide seed, Uncle Des, that we suggest you side with this evening.

Uncle Des will, of course, come from trap 6, being the only wide seed in the race and this should see him avoiding any of the trouble that can often hinder a greyhound’s performance.

The early pace in the race looks to come from the middle traps, Geneva Emy and Oakfront Ironman, but I have placed question marks against both greyhounds’ ability to both avoid trouble in their races as well as seeing out the full 485m at Coventry.

If we think one or both of those aforementioned greyhounds may struggle to avoid trouble or finish well then we can look elsewhere to see what else can take them on. Trap 2 is the current favourite and whilst it can run on strongly here it has poor sectionals and looks like it would have to come from last to first.

The best option is Uncle Des. Des doesn’t have the best early pace but has enough to stay in contention early, especially with a clear run likely. This coupled with the fact that Uncle Des runs on well makes him an interesting proposition.

Uncle Des has scored twice in a row in A2 class in good times and can go faster despite this upgrade to A1. Uncle Des definitely looks the value play in this race and should be backed at 7/1 with Coral.

The second of our free greyhound racing betting tips sees us switch over to Romford for their 8:50pm race over 575m where the race looks to have a good amount of early pace.

We think the best of that early pace will come from the dog in trap 3, Centurion Hudson, who has been showing up well recently and especially well in his upgrade to S1 class last time out where he clocked 36:08s when getting clipped on the line by a renowned strong finisher.

There are no such finishers in this race and I think a repeat of that performace, and, in fact, the race before that in the lower grade will see him go well in this race.

The main competition for early contention should come from Oakfield Turbo in trap 5 but the selection should hold that bitch who does seem to also struggle with the full 575m.

Centurion Hudson should be backed at the stand-out 4/1 available with Ladbrokes.

The final of our free greyhound betting tips for the 24th of July sees BetPal revisit a NAP from last week at Romford where we stick with T5 Dudleys Viking in the 10:11pm race.

The premise for backing him last week remains this week, he has the ability to win races by either leading from trap to line or by from finishing strongly.

In this race he should be able to turn in contention before proving too strong for the competition and the 4/1 with Paddy Power looks a good price to get involved at.
