2013 has been a terrible year for Zaragoza because so far the team is win-less and stands just two points above the relegation zone. Getafe fares much better and although it lost sight of European Cup spots it still stands in the first half of the tables, which is the objective for this season.
Match: Getafe vs Zaragoza
Bet: Over 2.5 goals
Odds: Betfair 2.22
What makes this game so exciting is the fact that both teams miss a lot of players, and most of the absentees are in the midfield or defense. Getafe has all its strikers fit to play, but the defense was crippled when Mane and Juan Valera joined a rather lengthy list of absentees. Even so, they have managed to win three of four games played in February, with the only team to defeat them being the leading Barcelona. Keeping clean sheets and preventing their opponents from scoring has always been a problem for Getafe.
The visitors are all-too-familiar with these issues, as Zaragoza will have its defensive woes amplified by the suspension of Franco. After their first goalkeeper was sidelined with an injury earlier this year, their second choice will also be unavailable as Franco picked up a red card in the most recent draw against Valencia. This will give young goalkeeper Alcolea a chance to prove his worth, but with eight vital players missing due to injury or suspension, he will be under siege from the first minute.
Punters should resist the temptation of backing the hosts to win, not because this is a risky bet, but because there is a better choice. With so many defensive players on the bench or watching the game from home, it makes perfect sense to wager on more than 2.5 goals to be scored and Betfair has the best odds.
