Almeria spent an entire season in the second flight and now they return to Primera Division, trying to avoid relegation. They started on the wrong foot after losing at home against a former Liga Adelante colleague and will now try to make up for that defeat by winning away at Getafe.
Odds: Pinnacle Sports 1.91
2012-2013 season promised to be a remarkable one for Getafe who won most of the games before the end of the year, only to sink into near irrelevance in the second half. They’ve lost 9/10 games in the domestic league and didn’t shine in friendly games either, not to mention that the first game of the season was also a defeat. Real Sociedad made short work of their defenses and scored two goals without conceding any, but that defeat was somehow predictable given the fact that their opponents finished fourth last season.
Now Getafe returns home for a game against Almeria, a team that didn’t defeat them at Coliseum Alfonso Perez in four years. What is certain, is that the hosts can no longer use a single striker, and although Adrian Colunga is expected to feature up front, he won’t be alone. Coach Garcia has to choose between Alvaro and Fedor, but it would come as no surprise if at one point in the game all three strikers will be on the pitch at the same time.
It is too early in the season for this to be a do or die game for either team, but the impact of this result could be significant. Both teams try to avoid relegation and losing points against the counter-candidate can prove fatal in the final rounds. Getafe has a better claim at victory tonight and Pinnacle Sports make it worth betting on their triumph at odds of 1.91.
