England travel to Berlin for an International friendly and Ero2016 warm-up this Saturday
Draw 14-5 BetVictor
Both Germany and England will be in France this summer for Euro 2016. World Champions Germany will be expected to go close to winning the European Championships, while expectations for England will be lower after major tournament disappointments in recent years, the knock-out stages would be a start.
England did come through the Qualifiers with 10 straight wins and will be expected to come out of their Group in France. From there England would likely be favoured over any Second Round opponent so reaching the Quarter Final might be a reasonable expectation.
England have won 6 of their last 7 games and did beat France 2-0 at home in their most recent friendly game. However that snapped a run of 3 friendly games without a win and England were defeated 2-0 in Spain in their last away friendly and they have now won 1 of their last 7 away friendly games although only losing in 2 of those.
A small hangover from the World Cup win saw Germany make a slow start to their Qualifying Group for Euro 2016 before comfortably making the Finals. The Germans were beaten 2-0 in their last friendly game in France, although that is a match that will forever be overshadowed by the terrible events that occurred in Paris that evening including at the Stade de France.
Germany themselves haven’t been at their best in friendly games and they have only won 1 of their last 6 home friendlies. That includes defeats in 2 of their last 3 home friendly games.
England versus Germany games have trended towards the visitors in recent games. The last 5 games between these teams have been won by the visitor including Germany’s 0-1 win at Wembley Stadium in November 2013. The last time they played in Germany ended with an England 1-2 win in November 2008.
It will be tough for England against a Germany team full of talent especially missing the likes of Rooney, Hart and Sterling through injury. For both teams experimentation will be the order of the day too especially as the benches empty in the second half
Prices for this game have Germany 4/6, the Draw 14/5 and England 9/2. I like the Draw at 3/1 here with BetVictor for this friendly.
