To tie in with our article about football accumulator betting, we’ve decided to help you pick out a winning accumulator bet this weekend! We’ve identified three teams – all in England’s third tier – for your Saturday football accumulator that you could place as a treble, or simply include amongst your own accumulator selections. Coral are currently the best priced about all three of our weekend tips, so we would recommend placing your bet with them this weekend.
1 – Walsall vs Chesterfield
Walsall are currently enjoying a better run than the bare form suggests and look good value for your football accumlator. A recent defeat to Yeovil came when The Glovers were enjoying a good run of form, while the 3-1 victory against Colchester was the first defeat for the Essex team in ten matches. Walsall have also recently beaten promotion chasing Sheffield United at home, before holding their cross-city rivals to a draw away from home. After surrendering a 2-0 lead away to Rochdale – who are fighting for their lives – in the 90th minute, the Walsall heads didn’t drop and they managed to snatch a point at the death. The Saddlers are capable of producing some good football too, and should really be much higher up the table than they are.
Chesterfield on the other hand have lost talismanic striker Jack Lester to injury, after he limped off in their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy win over Swindon. Since that match, The Spireites have lost both of their league games by four goals to one; fair enough, one of those was against Sheffield United, but the second was at home in a must win game against fellow strugglers Scunthorpe United. Chesterfield haven’t won away from home since the end of January and if you speak to their fans, few will tell you that they honestly believe they can overhaul the ten point gap between them and safety. Although they are as good as relegated, while ever it’s still mathematically possible to survive, the pressure will not lift and they will continue to struggle. For that reason, Walsall look good value at even money (Coral) and are a must for your weekend football accumulator bets.
2 – Sheffield United vs Bournemouth
This match should be the banker in anyone’s weekend football accumulator, as Sheffield United are currently on fire. Outscoring every team in the country at the moment, The Blades have scored 78 goals in their 40 league games, 25 of which have come courtesy of in-form Welsh hitman Ched Evans. 47 of those goals have come at Bramall Lane, where United have lost just once since the beginning of October.
Bournemouth succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Sheffield United earlier in the season, and their current form suggests that it’s unlikely they will reverse that form, with just one win in the last eleven matches (and one win in eight on the road). The best price of 1.62 (Coral) about The Blades could look like buying money come five o’clock on Saturday afternoon, so be sure to stick them in your accumulator.
3 Oldham Athletic vs Charlton Athletic
Our third and final accumulator recommendation is top of the league Charlton, as they travel to Oldham. Charlton have looked like league champions for some time now, but with Sheffield United only six points behind and breathing down their necks with six matches remaining, they still have to be professional in order to clinch the silverware. Charlton have already scored an impressive 72 goals this season and should have more than enough firepower to overcome Oldham’s leaky defence.
This really should be one of the easier opportunities for Charlton to pick up maximum points en route to the title, with Oldham in dire form of late having mustered just two goals in their last five matches, and having suffered three defeats on the spin; at home to Leyton Orient and two away matches against Notts County and Brentford. Charlton should make it four and so you should include them in your weekend football accumulator bets, with Coral‘s 2.30 looking especially juicy.
If you wish to place this football accumulator as a standalone treble, do so with Coral as they are the top price about all three of our tips, but feel free to simply include them in a much larger accumulator of your own/ Whatever you do, good luck with all of your football bets this weekend!
