Last week’s football accumulator tip failed to live up the standards we set the previous week, where our tip came in for profit of £64.52, but we’re hoping to get back on track this weekend with selections in the Scottish Premier League, League One and the Championship. Should our accumulator come up on Saturday April 28th, we’ll be looking at profit of £87.50 (William Hill), so make sure you check out our recommendations before placing your own football accumulator bets this weekend!
1 – Dundee United vs Hearts
The Arabs have been in terrific form of late, losing just one of their last eleven SPL matches. Their home form in particular has been notable, recording a 4-0 win, two 3-0 wins and a 2-1 victory over Rangers in recent matches at Tannadice, suggesting that Hearts might well struggle to get a result. The last time the two sides met, Dundee United ran out 2-0 winners at Tynecastle, which doesn’t bode too well for the visitors either.
The Edinburgh side haven’t been in terrible form lately, having lost just twice in six matches, but they have been a little inconsistent away from home of late, winning only twice in their last six matches on the road. They went to Ibrox and got a good result (2-1 winners) and yet they have slipped up against the likes of Inverness. Overall, even money (William Hill) about Dundee United makes some appeal and they look a good bet for our football accumulators this weekend.
2 – Millwall vs Blackpool
This is an interesting match in the Championship, where I feel Millwall are quite overpriced. The Lions have been resurgent towards the end of the season, leaping to the top of the Championship form table having recorded five wins on the bounce (three away from home) and losing just once in their last eight matches. They have secured their Championship status easily and will be looking to end the season on a positive note for the home supporters.
Blackpool have been in good form too, having won four of their last six matches, but away from home they have been a little ropey, winning just one of their last five matches on the road. Having now wrapped up a spot in the Play-Offs, you have to feel that they will take their foot off the gas a little and look to make sure they go into those matches with as strong a squad as possible. I can’t imagine Millwall easing off in front of their home fans and I think the best price of 2.50 (William Hill) is a little insulting, so they go into our weekend football accumulator as a real value bet.
3 – Carlisle United vs Exeter City
There’s still everything to play for in League One and Carlisle need to get back to winning ways if they are to sneak into the Play-Offs. They looked to be in the driving seat before a run of five games without a win saw them slip down to eighth in the table. However, their rivals have tough matches this weekend and Exeter at home represents a real opportunity to get back on track. Looking at their recent poor run, excuses can be made; there’s no shame in losing 1-0 to title winners Charlton or 2-1 in the 97th minute at automatic promotion chasing Sheffield Wednesday, for example.
Exeter can survive mathematically, but it will require a Herculean effort; they are five points away from safety with a terrible goal difference and with Carlisle and Sheffield United left to play. They have the worst away record in League One, with just two wins and four draws on the road all season, and I see no reason for that to change this weekend against a top eight side that simply have to win.
There was a glimmer of hope for Exeter in beating Walsall at the weekend, but the game before saw them beaten away from home by the division’s bottom side Rochdale. If you can’t even win away at Rochdale, what hope have you got against Carlisle? The even money being offered by William Hill about a home win will look like buying money come five o’clock on Saturday April 28th, so they are a must for this weekend’s football accumulator bets.
The best bookmaker to use for this week’s football accumulator tip is definitely William Hill, as they are best price about all three of the sides in our recommended accumulator. If you’re yet to open an account with Hills, be sure to take advantage of their “Bet £25, Get £25″ welcome bonus!
Good luck with your weekend accumulator bets!
