Semi finals of the European Champions Cup rugby competition take place next weekend
Saturday 20th April 3.15pm
Saracens v Munster, Ricoh Arena
Saracens comfortably beat Glasgow in the quarter finals to begin to justify their top knockout stage seeding, scoring seven tries to win 56-27 whilst Munster travelled to Edinburgh as fifth seeds and won 17-13.
Munster are a nuggety tough experienced side that will scrap for everything but nevertheless are 8 point underdogs at 10/11 for this match against the tournament favourites. Saracens should win, and to my mind it might be quite narrow given Munster’s nous and game-craft.
Munster +8 at 10/11 with William Hill
Sunday 21st April 3.15pm
Leinster v Toulouse, Aviva Stadium
Defending Champions Leinster had a titantic tussle against Ulster in their quarter finals, going behind early and needing a late penalty kick to win 21-18, a far narrower victory than was expected.
Toulouse provided a superb win in Paris with a fantastic try to overcome the hosts 22-21 when Toulouse were down to 14 men after a first half red card. Toulouse are roaring back to prominence in French and European rugby with a very entertaining style and won’t be a push over here, albeit as a French side away from home against the tournament holders hould be underdogs.
Leinster are 6 point favourites on the handicap at 10/11 at William Hill, a nicely judged point spread line. On balance i will suggest Leinster will cover in Dublin
