Pool 4 Munster v Leicester (Saturday 7.45pm)

Saturday’s game sees the two unbeaten teams at the top of Pool 4 play the first of their two back to back games in successive weekends that could decide the pool winners and automatic qualification. Munster are a very difficult side to beat at Thormond Park in Limerick, playing a primarily forward orientated game roared on by a passionate crowd in winter conditions. Munster aren’t quite the side of their glory European days a decade or so ago but are justifiably favourites (8/13 best with PaddyPower) to win

Leicester are a side transitioning fast (five wins out of six in the Aviva Premiership so far this season, and two out of two wins in Europe) under new head coach Aaron Mauger to a 15 man game, with quick ball.  Conditions may be against them here, and it might be a bit early in their transformation to pull off the upset in Ireland (13/8 Bet365).

This should be a close game though, i would be surprised if there was more than a score in the final result and for the loser, losing bonus points are a realistic target. In the winning margin betting market Munster are 7/5 with Betfairsportsbook to win by 1-12 points and 4-1 with BetVictor to win by 1-5 points. Iprefer the former, but both are intersting prices

Pool 5 Wasps v Bath (Sunday 5.15pm)

Two Aviva Premiership teams meet in Pool five on Sunday afternoon and it is the home side Wasps who are the form side. Reflecting this Wasps are 4/9 favourites for this game, Bath 15/8 underdogs with BetVictor. Wasps really put a marker down thrasing two time champions Toulon 32-6 in the last round of matches in this competition and have scored 7 tries in their two games to lead the pool. Bath have won their only game in the group but are a less cohesive unit currently, integrating a lot of players and this came be seen in them sitting 8th in their domestic table with only two wins in six games played

Wasps -5 can be backed at 10/11 generally and is an attractive bet.
