Next weekend Euro2020 Qualifying group matches begin.

England play the Czech Republic at Wembley on Friday 22nd March before travelling to face Montenegro on Monday 25th March. The top two in each group qualify plus there is a play off system, with some teams already qualified for the play-offs by virtue of group finishes in the Nations League, England amongst them.

England are 1/6 to win this group, Czech Republic 10/1 and Montenegro 20/1 third favourites

England were semi finalists in last year’s World cup and then recovered from an opening game Nations League group loss at home to Spain to beat them away and get four points out of six of Croatia to win the group and qualify for the semi-finals in Portugal next summer

The squad is young and talented with particular strength in attacking areas with Kane, Sterling, Alli and Sancho all consistent performers for their clubs in domestic and European competitions

The Czech Republic failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, then finished second in their Nations League B group behind Ukraine, to whom they lost home and away and needed to beat Slovakia in their last group game to remain in the B groups for the next competition.

England are 1/3 to win on Friday night, the Czech Republic 12/1 and the Draw 5/1. Of course England should win and the value instead of the outright market is England to win to nil at 5/6 with Bet365.

Montenegro also failed to qualify from their Nations League group, in the C band. Beating Lithuania home and away they got one point from four matches against Romania and Serbia. In World Cup Qualification they finished third in their group behind Poland and Denmark.

Montenegro is a tough place to go, a tight ground with a passionate crowd and England have only drawn there in their last two visits, 2-2 in 2012 Euro qualification and 1-1 in 2014 World Cup Qualification. I feel the most likely result is a narrow England win, with England again odds on to win a sporting alternative is England to win 1-0 at 7-1 again with Bet365
