England play two international matches next week. USA in a friendly and Croatia in the Nations League

1 England v USA Wembley Thursday 15th November

Callum Wilson has been called up by England for the first time after an impressive start to the season with Bournemouth.
The striker has been named by Gareth Southgate for the friendly against USA and the Nations League match against Croatia.
Wilson, who has six goals in 11 Premier League matches this season, joins Jadon Sancho and – for the USA game only – Wayne Rooney among the forward chosen by Southgate in a controversial move for a farewell international appearance that suggests this USA match won’t be taken hugely seriously, especially with a competitive game four days later against Croatia.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Dele Alli and Jesse Lingard have been included in the squad after missing the most recent internationals. Harry Maguire, James Maddison and Mason Mount have dropped out because of injuries and the Everton defender Michael Keane is included for the first time in 12 months.

The USA failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup and in recent international friendlies beat Mexico, lost to Colombia and drew to Peru all on home soil.

With Bet365 England are 1/4, the draw 9/2 and the USA 10/1 to win, England half time/full time at 6/4 looks a reasonalble alternative to the outright market.

2 England v Croatia Sunday 18th November

England come to the game after their thrilling 3-2 win in Seville in the last group game that put them two points behind Spain at the top of the group after three games

Croatia and England drew 0-0 behind closed doors in Croatia in their last match following on from Croatia’s extra time victory over England in the world cup semi final last summer

In this first year of the new four year world cup cycle both sides are introducing new players and Croatia in particular have shown questionable motivation in this tournament

With PaddyPower England are 5/6 and its 12/5 each of two Croatia and the draw and the home win seems a reasonable expectation in these circumstances.
