5.30pm Friday 6th July Cardiff

India took a one nil lead in the three match series as they won by 8 wickets in 18.2 overs powered by a wonderful Rahul century in the first match at Old Trafford.

England started well but really struggled against the left arm wrist spin of Yadav who scuttled through England’s middle order taking 5-24. Only new T20 opener Jos Buttler who has been in magnificent form in all formats held firm, top scoring with 69.

India are a much stronger T20 team than their underdsog price for the first match implied. In a hot English summer their weaknesses on green pitches and the moving ball are not going to be exposed on firm pitches and a batting line up containing Rahul, Dhawan, Kohli, Sharma and Dhoni is complemented by the seam of Kumar and talented young spinners
.
England of course have match winners too but priced at odds on for this series are not the value play, India are and that is likely to persist at Cardiff, another potentially dry pitch in what should be a high scoring game
