Into the last two weeks of the group stages

Wednesday 30th January

Melbourne Renegades v Sydney Thunder

The Renegades are up to second in the league table with seven wins from 12 games and two games left to play. The Thunder meanwhile are just outside the top four with a 50% win-loss record. The Renegades thrashed the Scorchers in their last game dismissing them for 79 while the Thunder chased 181 to beat the Scorchers in their last game.

This is a key game and likely to be very close. Preference has to be for the Renegades at 10/11 with Skybet

Thursday 31st January

Hobart Hurricanes v Adelaide Strikers

Hobart continue as the strongest team in the competition with nine wins from their 11 games most recently when thrashing the Brisbane Heat chasing 145 in only 14 overs for the loss of only one wicket. The Strikers have only 4 wins from their 11 games and are slipping out of play off contention. The Hurricanes at 8/11 with SkyBet have to be considered a good thing here.

Friday 1st February

Brisbane Heat v Perth Scorchers

the bottom two teams in the league table meet here and each have lost their last three games. Brisbane are clearly at best inconsistent with stronger batting than bowling while Perth have been downright disappointing particularly in their batting performances. Brisbane are favoured at 10/11 with Skybet in a game for low stakes

Saturday 2nd February

Sydney Sixers v Sydney Thunder

The Sixers, led by the bowling attack of Abbott, Curran and O’Keefe with over 45 wickets between them in the competition this season have seven wins out of 12 and are in second place in the table and the most improved team in the competition this year. Their now vaunted bowling attack dismissed the Strikers for only 124-8 in the in last game. The Thunder meanwhile are just outside the top four with a 50% win-loss record and come here from their Melbourne game on Wednesday. The Sixers at 5/6 for me with Skybet
