Coventry is the home of the live greyhound racing on RPGTV this Sunday evening and thus will be the source of our free greyhound racing tips. The card features the three heats of the Holystone Elf Puppy Cup as well as the final of the Best Champagne Stayers Trophy and we have selections in all 4 of those races as well as a bonus 5th free greyhound racing tip. Our bet of the night comes in one of the heats of the Puppy Cup where the price of 5/2 won’t be there come race time with bet365.
Our bet of the night comes in heat two of the Puppy Cup and we reckon Extreme Lad, in trap 3, is a snip at the 5/2 bet365 have opened at. The race takes place at 7:45pm and some other bookmakers already have the dog below 2/1 and a likely starting price could be 6/4.
A poor race last time out can be excused where he missed the break but he can easily lead this race and has form over the favourite for the competition, Calzaghe Jack, over this distance.
Droopys Diop will likely be too classy for his rivals in the Stayers Final over 672m and there is a good chance he goes off very short. In the mean time, head over to Ladbrokes and take their evens (2.0) on him winning the 8:30pm race.
He has competition in the early pace department from trap one but since Diop is coming from trap 6 he’ll avoid trouble. The late challenge will come from Goa Girl, who he easily held last week in the heats, and the classy Calzaghe Lilly, who needs further to get into contention. A repeat of the 41:55s of last week will be more than enough to secure the win.
In the opening heat of the Puppy Cup, at 7:15pm, we think that Bubbly Charlie is overpriced at 6/1 with Coral. The basis of our bet is the 27:16s fast trial during the week which is a time likely to be more than good enough tonight.
His only race came at Henlow last weekend where he won in good fashion and he looks like he could be a classy puppy. The 6/1 price is inflated as this is the strongest heat, with the favourite Calzaghe Jack running along with the Gymcrack winner Young Golden but Charlie is worth a chance at the prices.
The last of the heats for the Puppy Cup goes at 8:15pm and we are taking a chance on Geneva Emy from trap 2. Coventry is Emy’s home track and he has the early pace to grab a lead and just have the legs to outstay the likes of Freddy Thelegend who will go off favourite.
The 9/2 on offer from Ladbrokes looks a touch of value for a dog that has the best of the early.
Our final free greyhound racing tip is another big priced type and comes in the 7:30pm race where T6 Westmead Apollo is taken to flash home late to grab the victory. He ran an impressive time last week when coming from off the pace to finish 2nd in a good race and we think he won’t have as much on his plate this week.
6/1 with bet365 looks the play in this race.
