The Racing Post Greyhound TV live greyhound racing on Sunday the 12th of May comes from the Coventry track and it is from there that we provide our free greyhound betting tips. Coventry has a solid 12 open race card and bet365 have kindly priced up the card early. There are a number of odds-on favourites that look like potential winners but we’ve picked out a number of bets at bigger prices including our bet of the day at 5/2 with bet365.
Real Trickyone looks primed to win the 7:00pm race and can be backed at 5/2 at bet365 to do so. He’ll be coming from trap 5 and will benefit from the slow starting dogs in the traps 4 and 6. Trickyone has been showing good early pace at all of the tracks he has been running at recently and will benefit from having had a run at Coventry last week.
In that race, Real Trickyone ran a sectional of 5.42s to lead before taking a bad bump at the first corner. That kind of sectional would see him lead this race and his time, 29:55s, was fast enough considering he got the early trouble.
He should get a clear run this time and if hitting the front early won’t give up that lead having form over six bends.
Of the 12 races, there are 9 favourites of 5/4 or shorter and whilst there can obviously be value in backing short-priced dogs we have, on this occasion, decided to take one of them on with a bigger priced fancy.
Glenpadden Bolt is 11/10 in the 7:30pm race but we think the better value in the race comes in the form of Bowtime Regan in trap 4 who bet365 have priced at 4/1. Bowtime Regan has ran Coventry’s Constable Cup competition in the last two weekends and performed admirably to finish third in the final.
Regan’s semi-final heat performance in that competition is what picks him out as a bet this evening. Showing good early pace, he made all in 29:36s and there is a good chance that a similar performance would be enough to upset the favourite.
Based on Bowtime Regan’s recent sectionals around Coventry, he could grab an early lead in this race and hopefully hold off Glenpadden Bolt.
After his track record performance over the 485m last weekend, Farloe Warhawk, one of BetPal’s Greyhound Derby recommendations, goes again in the 9:00pm race. Coming from trap one he could fly round again and score in another impressive time. If that happens the 33/1 for the Derby could easily be reduced by a fair bit.
