Our Sunday night racing comes from, as always, Coventry and they are doing a fine job of putting on excellent cards to entertain the viewing public, who can see the races live on the Racing Post site.
bet365, as they often do, have the prices up nice and early on a Sunday morning and whilst you run the risk of another bookmaker entering with a bigger price later in the day bet365 offer ‘Best Odds Guaranteed’ meaning that if your dog goes off at a bigger price, you will be paid at that price.
So it is with bet365 that we will be recommending you use to back most of our free greyhound racing tips this evening with the main bet seeing us revisit a dog we backed last weekend who couldn’t quite get it done then. Tonight we can make some money by backing it at 2/1.
We backed Geneva Emy last weekend where unfortunately he couldn’t make the most of his early pace but this evening he is in a slightly less competitive open race at 6:45 and he is taken to make all.
Back over 485m Emy will be able to crack out from trap one, with no challenger in the early pace stakes on the inside, and the 2/1 with bet365 is a very fair price for us to get involved at.
The danger looks to come in the form of trap 6, Newinn Chick, who is also an early paced type but Geneva Emy should be able to hold his position and even if Chick did grab a length lead Emy is the stronger dog between bends 1 and 2 thus can push on from there.
Another dog drawn well in trap one tonight is Calzaghe Davy in the 9:00 race who can be backed at 11/8, again with bet365. Based on his last trip over course and distance he could lead this lot round and score by a few lengths.
There are a number of strongly fancied short-priced favourites tonight and the shortest of those is the marathon star Ballymac Swift who has been breaking track records for fun recently. Swift is 2/7, too short for us to back, and we have looked at the other marathon race on the card for a winner, albeit at a short price too.
Calzaghe Lilly runs in the 7:45 race and is currently best priced at 10/11 with William Hill. She has been running over Coventry’s 672m recently but has been crying out to get back to the marathon distance and she is given that tonight. She should be too good for the competition tonight and is a bet at 10/11.
In the opening race of the card, at 6:30, Mottos Blue is a worthy favourite and can be backed at 2/1 with Paddy Power. Although predominantly a sprinter, he has form over four bends at Monmore and should ping the lids before seeing out the 485m distance well.
With a number of short-priced fancies, we’ve picked out one at a bigger price too. Planning goes from trap 5 in the 8:15 race and is currently 8/1 with bet365. The price is just a little too big for a strong dog who can on occasion show good early pace whilst is comfortable running over longer thus could seriously challenge if he is near the head of the field early.
