It is increasingly clear that Cleveland will only advance to the postseason if they win the division, and if they are to overtake Detroit they need to start winning consecutive games. The Indians host Texas after winning the opening game and try to take advantage of their opponents’ offensive struggles.
Odds: Winner Sports 2.10
The opening game proved to be a roller coaster, with the starting pitchers being completely overwhelmed by the offensive prowess of their opponents. Tonight, both teams start with better pitchers and Cleveland is quite confident in the ability of Justin Masterson to pitch deep into the game. He won 11 decisions this season and posted an ERA of 3.60, not to mention that he was stellar in his last start against Minnesota.
He prevented the opponents from hitting in the first six innings and if he can replicate that performance against the Rangers, Justin should give the hosts a chance to win the series in game two. Masterson will be opposed by Yu Darvish who hopes to cross the threshold into the double-digit victory area, after leading Texas to victory against the Yankees. He enjoyed tremendous support from his teammates in the first half of the season, but more recently the Rangers failed to score runs when Yu was on the pitch. Given the fact that Indians scored 11 runs last night, Darvish is expected to be given a run for his money.
The two teams look evenly matched and with 19 runs being scored in the opening game, it is obviously that the game could go either way. Winner Sports offers odds of 2.10 for a home victory which represents tremendous value and warrants a full stakes wager on the Indians.
