A few years ago Chicago White Sox and Detroit were battling for the division but this season they are separated by 25 points. The Tigers are a few games away from another playoffs berth, but the hosts will do everything in their power to ruin the party for their divisional rivals, by aiming a sweep in the series.
Bet: Chicago White Sox
Odds: Winner Sports 2.10
At the beginning of last week Chicago was mired in a 10 games losing streak but eventually put an end to it and is now trying to avoid losing consecutive games again. To maximize their chances they will send Chris Sale to the mound, a starting pitcher that has every reason to be upset with his teammates. He received the fewest runs of support in Major League Baseball and despite conceding fewer than three runs per game on average, he suffered 11 defeats while winning only seven decisions.
His ERA is better than the one posted by his opponent, but Doug Fister has 10 winning decisions to show for and only 5 defeats. He was brilliant in his last four outings posting an earned run average of 1.59, but in his last start surrendered 2 runs against Cleveland. Luckily for him his teammates provided the runs of support needed to avoid another defeat and tonight he is counting on a similar outcome against Chicago.
With the White Sox trailing the division it comes as no surprise that Winner Sports values them at 2.10 to win at US Cellular Field. As far as punters are concerned, these odds are terrific because the worst-case scenario is for this game to be a coin flip, which means that the value is with Chicago.
