The high-profile clash between Caroline Wozniacki and Viktoria Azarenka is undoubtedly going to be one of the main highlights of the tournament in Indian Wells on Thursday – and it would not be a huge shock to see Wozniacki walking away as the winner of that match.

There is no doubt that Viktoria Azarenka is one of the main favourites for the title in Indian Wells, but you would nevertheless have to be quite brave in order to back her for the outright win – at least if you have seen her in action against Urszula Radwanska. The thing is, she really was quite poor against the Pole, even though the scoreline might be suggesting something else.

Furthermore, it is clear that she is not completely alright in terms of fitness, as she was grimacing throughout the entire match. She will obviously be quite fresh after having a bit of rest of Wednesday, but one just never knows with injuries.

For that reason, this is a speculative bet – but, if you throw everything in, the odds for Wozniacki winning look like value. She is still a quality player that can beat anyone in the world on a good day and her performance against Petrova was indeed a good one. And, on the top of everything, she has a fairly annoying playing style that will force Azarenka to run around much more than she would like to. It is clear who is the favourite to win this, but it is hard to find any value in backing the Belorussian here at such a short price, so siding with the world’s number ten looks like the right choice.
