For a brief period of time Boston and Pittsburgh were engaged in a highly contested race for the first place in the Eastern conference. Now the Penguins have enough points between them and the runner ups to be almost certain that they will finish the regular season as the uncontested leaders.
Odds: Unibet 2.25
Pittsburgh has won 5 games in a row and if they prevail away from home tonight, they will join Chicago as conference winners. The Penguins are riding a five games winning streak and won both games so far in the series, but this is the first time they travel to Boston in 2013. The city is still recovering after the attacks, but the Bruins remain just as competitive and are a force to be reckoned with at TD Garden.
The visitors will be without Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, and the two absentees will force them to play a more defensive minded hockey. It might have been easy to win against weaker opponents despite not having the best two players on the ice, but playing anything short of their A-game is a guaranteed loss against the Bruins. The hosts are mired in the three games losing streak, but all the defeats came at one or two goals difference and overtime losses were the most frequent ones.
It is never easy going against the conference leader especially when the Penguins are trying to extend their winning streak to six games in a row. On the other hand, the odds offered by Unibet for a regulation time victory are terrific and they make it worth backing Boston at TD Garden.
