Boston and Chicago continue their Original Six rivalry in the final series of the playoffs and the action shifts back to Boston for game three. The two teams are tied 1-1 after each of them winning one game in overtime and it is only fair to say that they have equal chances to win the Stanley Cup.
Odds: Unibet 2.30
The Blackhawks were the more aggressive team in both games and outshot the visitors but it was the Bruins who came closer to scoring. Game one was decided in triple overtimes, and the visitors must have been worried to see that the second match of the series was heading into extra time as well. In an interesting turn of events, Boston was the better team in the two periods of overtime and sent 24 goals towards Corey Crawford’s net.
One of them hit their mark and game two came to a swift conclusion, but once again the match could’ve gone either way. Now that the Bruins return home and the home ice advantage was undone, Chicago will experience the tremendous pressure of playing in Boston as underdogs. Their best chance is to take an early lead once again, but it is hard to believe that the hosts would allow them to take the initiative. The Blackhawks were dominant in the first period of both games but as long as Toews and Kane don’t do their mission upfront, the avalanche of shots sent at the opponents’ net doesn’t mean a lot.
Punters are probably downright scared to back Boston to win in regulation time after two consecutive games decided in overtime. Nevertheless, this is the right thing to do now that Unibet has increased its odds for a home victory to 2.30.
