Bodog Still Taking American Poker Players, Victory Poker Pull Out

Bodog Poker are continuing to accept American poker players at their site, despite the events of “Black Friday”, while up and coming online poker site Victory Poker have opted to block players from the US.

After Friday’s legal action against the likes of online poker giants PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker, it was feared that many other US friendly online poker firms would close their doors, out of fear that they may be next in line for closure. Those fears would appear to have at least partially come true.

Victory Poker have asked their provider, the Cake Poker network, to block American based poker players from their site. Victory CEO Dan Fleyshman said via Twitter: “Asked the Cake Network to block U.S. players from the Victory Poker site. They are supportive of my decision. Hope it gets regulated 1 day!”

Victory had become known as one of the fastest growing online poker websites and the company managed to attract some high profile names to help promote the business, such as World Poker Tour stalwart Antonio Esfandiari and Playboy Playmate Sara Jean Underwood.

Two thirds of the Victory Poker player base is thought to be from outside of the United States, so the company itself shouldn’t be affected too badly by this decision, but for American poker players seeking a new home, the block is yet another major body blow.

Bodog Poker on the other hand, are continuing to risk the wrath of the American government, by not only allowing US poker enthusiasts to continue playing, but by actively recruiting new players and accepting deposits on the back of “Black Friday”.

The latest marketing campaign by Bodog tells potential new customers that anyone looking for a new place to play after the closure of Full Tilt Poker, PokerStars, Absolute Poker and UB.com, can now play at Bodog and qualify for a juicy 110% bonus, with 10% up front.

Stay tuned for all the latest online poker news in the aftermath of “Black Friday”.
