Fixtures this weekend as follows
Friday 11th January
Adelaide Strikers v Melbourne Stars
Two sides in the top 4, in 3rd and 4th respectively in the league table, meet here. The Strikers lost their last game the Sixers chasing 150 while the Stars beat the Thunder last Saturday before playing the Scorchers on Wednesday. Rashid Khan will be the main threat for the Stars, he has taken 10 wickets at under 5 runs an over so far in the competition. In what should be a close game the Stars are value at 11/10 with their emerging batting line up.
Sunday 13th January
Sydney Thunder v Adelaide Strikers
After playing in Adelaide on Friday, the Strikers turn straight round and travel to Sydney for a match 48 hours later. The Thunder, now minus Root and Buttler whose seven game stint in the competition is over, are sixth in the table having won three of their seven matches. Although the travel schedule is not in Adelaide’s favour they should be capable of winning here at Evens with Sky Bet.
Melbourne Renegades v Brisbane Heat
After playing six matches the Renegades are just outside the top 4 required for the knockout stages with three wins and three defeats in the congested mid-table. They host the Heat who have won their first three matches of the competition in the last week beating the Sixers, Scorchers and Thunder in succession, the last of them in a rain affected match. I regard the Renegades as favourites here at 10/11 with SkyBet.
Perth Scorchers v Sydney Sixers
The Scorchers continue to struggle in this year’s competition. One win in six games and most recently lost to Brisbane Heat only posting 135-6 in their innings. Again the batting line up is not putting the side in contention to win many games. The Sixers, with Tom Curran having taken 11 wickets so far, are second in the league table with 4 wins from 7 matches most recently beating Adelaide. They have to be value here at just over evens to continue their run
