We head to Argentina on Monday for a betting tip in the Primera Division. Tigre vs San Martin pitches thirteenth versus fourteenth with three points lifting either up to the half way mark in the table. The form of both is pretty inconsistent, so can we still pick a winner?
Match: Tigre v San Martin
Betting tip: Back Over 2.5 goals
Best odds: 2.3 with BetVictor
Kick off: 22:00 03/06/2013
These two sides are well matched, if a little difficult to predict. Tigre have only won two of seven at home, but have at least put in decent performances of late, holding Lanus at home, before running Arsenal de Sarandi close, ultimately going down 3-2 to a late goal away from home. San Martin have really struggled on the road, drawing three and losing four – a point would be seen as a good one by the away side. The match odds market looks pretty fair given the above, but the goals markets looks tilted too far towards a low scoring game, and backing Over 2.5 goals offers some value. Two thirds (67%) of all San Martin games have seen three goals or more and 60% of Tigre games have finished ‘Overs’. When Tigre are at home, high scoring games become a little less frequent, but neither defence keeps regular clean sheets (four from fifteen for the hosts, two from fifteen for the away side). Both teams are efficient in front of goal, so with weaker than average defences on show, the Overs price looks generous.
