Our betting tip on Wednesday comes from South America, specifically Brazil’s Serie A. Sao Paulo host newly promoted Goias with the season just three games old. Will the early leaders win comfortably, or can last year’s Serie B Champions cause an upset?
Match: Sao Paulo vs Goias
Betting tip: Sao Paulo -1.5 on the Asian Handicap
Best odds: 2.25 with Bet365
Kick off: 23:30 05/06/2013
Sao Paulo enjoyed a very strong home record during the 2012 campaign, and the very early league leaders can register another wide margin win here. They won fifteen of nineteen home games last season, drawing two and losing two. Nine of those victories were by two goals or more. They kicked off this season in similar fashion, humbling Vasco da Gama 5-1 in their only home game so far. At odds against for a routine win, they still look value. Goias were promoted as champions of Serie B, but all their best work last season was at home. On the road, they lost six times, four of those by two goals or more. The step up has already exposed that weakness, with their only road game thus far ending in a 5-0 defeat at Cruzeiro. Their early fixtures have not been particularly kind, and this is a tough away trip. Back the hosts to win it with something to spare.
