The Championship provides a betting tip on Tuesday night, when Millwall host Crystal Palace in a London derby of huge significance at the top and bottom of England’s second tier. The Lions have dropped alarmingly close to the drop zone, while the Eagles are trying to book a play off place, but who will prevail?
Match: Millwall v Crystal Palace
Betting tip: Both Teams to Score – No
Best Odds: 2.05 with BetVictor
Kick Off: 19:45 30/04/2013
This fixture is the ‘game in hand’ that both clubs have been looking at to steal a march on their Championship rivals – and they both need points after some woeful form. The FA Cup certainly seems to have dented Millwall, but the real setback was losing their two leading scorers in January. The goals have since dried up, with the Lions bagging just thirteen in the eighteen games since New Years Day. Recent form is no better, seeing just five goals scored in the last eight. That has resulted in a steady fall down the table, to the point where Millwall are now within just a point of the drop zone. Crystal Palace have clung on to a play off place despite some dismal form of their own. Palace are without a win in eight, and again, the problem has been goal scoring. Glenn Murray was prolific earlier in the season, but he has not scored for seven games and the Eagles have notched just three times in that run of games. With finding the net proving so difficult for both, it makes sense to look at the goal markets. The Unders and Overs do not offer too much, but you can get odds-against on one or both teams failing to score, and that looks the ticket in this one.
