Adelaide host the final by finishing above Hobart in the League Ladder.
Adelaide Strikers v Hobart Hurricanes
Hobart pulled off the shock result in Perth on Thursday. Perth Scorchers’ 71 run defeat is their biggest ever BBL loss in terms of runs and the tenth biggest loss for any team in terms of runs. Hobart posted a formidable 210-4,overcoming the absence of their star batsman D’Arcy Short on international duty. Wade hit 71 as a makeshift opener and McDermott thrashed 67 off 30 balls including six sixes to propel Hobart over 200
It was game over when Perth fell to 65-6 in reply with Rogers taking three wickets opening the bowling and all-rounder Christian starting with 4-17.
Adelaide just pipped the Renegades to reach the final. Thanks to man of the match Travis Head’s 85 they set a target of 178 and won by a single run as, when only needing 21 off the last three overs, the Renegades fell just short of their target. Once again the excellent leg-spinner Rashid Khan was a key conceding only 28 runs off his four overs whilst Ben Laughlin also went for less than the run rate in his quota of overs.
The final will be contested between the side with the highest batting run rate this season, the Hobart Hurricanes with 8.71 and the side with the lowest bowling economy rate, the Adelaide Strikers with 7.47 runs per over. Importantly the major component of that Hurricanes run rate is D’Arcy Short and he is not playing
At home Adelaide are obviously favourites and minus Sort it is a huge ask for Hbart to pull off another shock against bolers of the quality of Rashid
I like the Strikers to win at odds of 5/6 with Bet365 and others
