The new F1 season begins in Melbourne next weekend
During the offseason teams and drivers have been going through changes before the new season. Racing Point will be making their debut after racing as Force India last season. Likewise, Alfa Romeo Racing replaces Sauber and Kimi Raikkonen returns to the team. Ferrari replaced him with Leclerc. Daniel Ricciardo moved from Red Bull to Renault. Pierre Gasly replaced Ricciardo at Red Bull.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel beat Lewis Hamilton to win the 2018 Australian Grand Prix this time last year. Hamilton, who started from pole position, finished second.
This year, Vettel will attempt to win his fourth Australian Grand Prix. In pre-season testing the Ferrari looked to be the strongest car, on most estimates up to half a second quicker than the Mercedes and Red Bull, though the gap is expected to narrow for the first weekend as more upgrades go onto the cars and of course until we see the cars in competitive action its is difficult to ascertain the genuine betting value.
Vettel has been installed as the favourite at 2/1 for the race with Hamilton 5/2 and LeClerc 11/4, 9/1 bar the three favourites in what should be the two leading cars for the season.
At 2/1, on everything we can see from pre-season testing, Vettel appears to be a good bet with Paddy Power.
