The world’s number one is naturally favored in the betting and, in many ways, that look is completely justified, but those who saw the matches the two played in the semi-finals might actually easily consider a bet on the Scot – not only because of the outstanding odds, but also because he wasted little time in beating the Czech number one, Tomas Berdych. The match was played on Thursday and did not take too much time, while the meeting between Wawrinka and Djokovic took place on Friday and featured five sets. The actual duration was not that different, but Murray will undoubtedly have the edge over Djokovic in terms of fitness and maybe even in terms of confidence, as Djokovic looked rather unhappy with how the semi-final match progressed.

The most striking issue is how passive the Serb was in many parts of the match, seemingly just waiting for his opponent to make an unforced error and lose the point. Additionally, Djokovic also gave away some surprisingly poor service games. If those problems surface in the upcoming finals, one can be sure that Andy Murray will take advantage of them, as he is excellent when it comes to such waiting games and his defensive qualities are also well-known. An epic match between two top players is therefore to be expect and the history of the rivalry suggests that it is going to be a very long affair, which is where the fatigue card could come into play. It is Murray who would have the advantage in that case, so we are going to recommend a bet on him in the Sunday finals.
