And, given that, we should definitely be in for a great match on Sunday. However, the question of who is going to walk away as the winner is indeed a very difficult one. On one hand, there is Andy Murray, the world’s number three, who has a 6-5 record against the Spaniard and who has won quite a few of these events before.

However, the Scot has not been playing his very best tennis in recent weeks and there are still plenty of doubts about his ability to concentrate and focus. For example, he lost the first set against Richard Gasquet only because he lost his focus a little bit when serving for it at *5-4.

On the other hand, there is David Ferrer, the world’s number five, who is probably the biggest fighter on the tour and who is willing to fight for every single point, no matter how important that particular point might be.

However, it needs to be said that he doesn’t have any big weapons in his arsenal and that he often relies on his opponent’s unforced errors more than on his own shot-making abilities. That was evident in his performance against Tommy Haas, as he didn’t know what to do against the German when he was on song during the first set.

If you put these things together, it is clear that we should see a great contest between two players that don’t mind playing longer matches – and this particular one might certainly go to the distance as well.
