Detroit squandered a two goals advantage in the third period but rebounded in overtime to push the series with Anaheim into a decisive game. The Ducks will return to California hoping that the support of their fans will propel them to the semifinals of the Western Conference.
Odds: Unibet 2.30
Anaheim won two games by two goals or more, with the other four being decided by a single goal and overtime was required on three occasions. The Ducks played much better in the third period but they can’t afford to count on the late rally in the seventh game, especially when they have home ice advantage. In all but two games, they have outshot their opponents, but that didn’t help too much due to the fact that Detroit was more effective in power-play situations.
Both teams play a very physical hockey and the Red Wings have more experienced players on ice, which explains why they are more precise when they have an extra man on the ice. All regular season games were won by Detroit and most of the winning goals were scored when an Anaheim player was serving a two-minute suspension. If the hosts find a way of limiting the time played in inferiority, they will outpace and eventually the hail of goals sent towards the opponents met will result in the much needed goals.
There is a good chance for the conclusive match of the series to be decided in the final minutes once again, but even so the Ducks are favorite to advance to the next stage. Unibet has the best odds for a regulation time victory and as long as they hold at current levels of 2.30 punters should back the Ducks.
