The experienced Colombian hasn’t had a lot of success in recent weeks and months, but it seems that he has managed to prepare himself for the tournament in Bogotá, which is undoubtedly one of the highlights of his tennis calendar this year. After all, winning a tennis tournament at home is what every single tennis player would love to accomplish.

Alejandro Falla is certainly no different in that regard – and he will definitely like the fact that he is going to be up against Matthew Ebden today. After all, you could easily say that the Australian will be a step down from Xavier Malisse, who was Falla’s opponent in the first round.

It is possible to find a couple of reasons for Matthew Ebden having a chance of beating Alejandro Falla today, but it would be fairly unreasonable to think that he will win this match often enough to justify the odds that are on offer for his win. Home conditions are not the most important thing ever, but the conditions in Bogotá do favor local players (or, as the recent results suggest, players from South America in general) pretty heavily and you can be sure that Falla will feel comfortable out there.

There are obviously no certainties in betting, but Falla should win this match without any real difficulties and backing him – either on the games handicap line or just outright – seems to be the play of the day on Thursday.
