Longshot of the day:
7.40 Kempton – Winged Icarus @ 12/1 (13.00) with Paddy Power

The first of our free horse racing tips for October 3rd goes in the 3.20 at Nottingham. Ed Dunlop’s Ascription looks a decent price at 7/2 (4.50) with Paddy Power, considering his last time out victory on softer ground over this trip, a race that has produced plenty of other winners. He’s been off the track for a couple of months, so hopefully he’ll be nice and fresh for today.

The 4.50 at Newcastle is the scene for the second of our free horse racing tips for Wednesday, with Luctor Emergo looking a decent bet at 11/2 (6.50) with Paddy Power. The three year old is having a great time of it lately, with three wins in July alone and a string of near misses in his last few runs. A really honest and consistent type who clearly acts on all types of ground, he’s only 3lbs higher than his last winning mark and the only issue is whether he will get this step up to two miles. I’m prepared to bet that he will.

Winged Icarus in the 7.40 at Kempton is our bigger priced, Each-Way tip for Wednesday 3rd October. The colt had a fairly dismal start to his career until switched to Southwell’s Fibresand, where he got off the mark in some style; albeit in a lower grade. He has since been switched back to turf, making no impression in a Class 2 race, but today finds himself trying Kempton’s Polytrack for the first time. Of course, there’s no guarantee he’ll take to it as he did to Fibresand and today’s race is much tougher than the one in which he lost his maiden tag, but with Fallon in the saddle and odds of 12/1 (13.00) on offer with Paddy Power, I think he’s an interesting selection.
