This weekend, there is plenty of value to be found in the lower leagues and we have put together a recommended football accumulator bet that pays out odds of 18.01 with Pinnacle, meaning that a bet of £20 would return a generous £360.20!
1 – Huddersfield vs Watford
Jordan Rhodes? Jordan who? Town have started life in the Championship really brightly, sitting second in the table and are unbeaten at home (winning two of their three games). Despite the recent loss of Rhodes to Blackburn, goals are still in plentiful supply (see their last two away wins against Blackpool and Sheffield Wednesday, both 3-1) and confidence is clearly high at the Galpharm.
By contrast, Watford sit fifth from bottom in the Championship table, a 2-2 draw at home to Bristol City at the weekend halting a run of three straight defeats. I would be surprised to see anything other than a home win in this match and Huddersfield’s best price of 2.10 (Stan James) looks like terrific value for your weekend football accumulator bets.
2 – Bournemouth vs Walsall
I can’t believe what I’m seeing when I look at the betting for this match. Bournemouth are being seriously over-hyped this season due to a couple of smart signings at the back end of last season, and are no bigger than 1.91 (Paddy Power) to win this match. This is despite having failed to register a single win at home from four attempts this season, their only win of the season being a 1-0 victory away to Yeovil. A 4-0 thumping at Swindon last weekend just served to remind me how massively over-rated the Cherries are by bookmakers so far this season.
Walsall were poor last season, but the appointment of Dean Smith saw a marked improvement in results and they played some good football, picking up wins against MK Dons, Sheffield United and draws against Huddersfield and Stevenage. I’m not surprised by how well they have started this term (already beating Notts County away and MK Dons at home) and I won’t be at all surprised if they beat a struggling Bournemouth side. Pinnacle‘s current price of 5.10 about a Saddlers victory is insulting, quite frankly, and it should be snapped up. By sticking them in your weekend football accumulator bet, you can really boost the potential returns.
3 – Gillingham vs Rochdale
Every football accumulator bet needs a banker and this weekend, Gillingham look to be just that. Unbeaten so far this season, with 22 points from a possible 24, the Gills comfortably saw off second placed Port Vale away from home last week to open up a six point gap at the head of the League Two table. They’re currently averaging more than two goals per game and have conceded just four times.
Rochdale on the other hand, have had an indifferent start to life back in League Two. Things are looking up after a slow start that saw them collect just one point from the opening three games, but last weekend they failed to beat a struggling Dagenham side at home, off the back of a very fortunate victory over Rotherham the week before. I simply can’t see them improving enough to beat a very solid looking Gillingham side in such a short space of time, and the current best price of 1.73 (Paddy Power) about a home win looks very generous indeed. A must for all accumulator bets on Saturday.
The best bookmaker to use for placing our lower league football accumulator bet this weekend is undoubtedly Pinnacle, who are currently offering odds of 18.01 (a shade over 17/1) about this recommended treble, thanks to their juicy price of 5.10 about Walsall. Those odds destroy the next best company – BetVictor – who clock in at 16.73.
