Fancy winning £207.81 from a £20 weekend football bet? If so, you should check out of recommended lower league football accumulator bet for Saturday October 6th, as we have a treble lined up that currently pays odds of 10.39 with Bet365…
1 – Stevenage vs Scunthorpe United
I said early on in the season that Scunthorpe will go down and I’ve seen absolutely nothing ten games into the season that suggests otherwise. They really are a poor side and they will struggle this weekend playing a side that were a revelation last season, and have started this season in terrific form.
Stevenage are second only to the red hot Tranmere in the League One table, having picked up five wins and five draws from their ten league matches this campaign and they should make light work of this struggling Scunthorpe side, who are currently League One’s lowest scoring team (just 7 goals from 10 matches, 3 in 5 on the road). Their best price of 1.90 with Pinnacle makes plenty of appeal and they could be bankers for your weekend football accumulator bets.
2 – Leyton Orient vs Sheffield United
The Blades have been solid if not spectacular so far this League One campaign, going unbeaten in their ten matches but amassing a total of six draws, five of which have finished 1-1. Last time out against Hartlepool, only a last minute strike prevented that tie from also finishing 1-1 and when you look at their five away matches this season, three have been 1-1, while the others (including that Hartlepool fixture) have been decided by a single goal.
Orient have actually started this season reasonably well, considering that many would have had them as relegation favourites. Strong recent performances against Walsall, Swindon and a 4-1 demolition job at home to Yeovil reminded us all that the East London side can play and Brisbane Road is not an easy place to go to (as Sheffield United found last season, when Orient battled back from a goal down with ten men to snatch a 1-1 draw). Neither side is scoring freely and I think this match has a low scoring draw written all over it. I don’t usually back draws, but the 3.40 on offer at Bet365 seems like great value, so it will definitely be included on my weekend football coupon.
3 – Arbroath vs Brechin
Brechin have been in poor form of late, failing to win a single match in September and conceding ten times in their last four games. Their away record is woeful so far this term, with four defeats from four attempts (including a League Cup tie against Division Two rivals Stenhousemuir), conceding 11 times into the bargain.
By contrast, the Lichties have been pretty solid all season, despite a 6-0 thrashing by runaway leaders Queen of the South earlier the season. That blip apart, Arbroath have yet to lose in the league and are scoring plenty of goals too. I’ll be very surprised indeed if the men from Gayfield Park don’t extend their unbeaten run at home in the league, and at a current best price of 1.70 (bwin), they are a must for your football accumulator bets this weekend.
Bet365 are currently the best bookmaker to use for placing our lower league football accumulator bet this weekend, as a treble with them would provide odds of 10.39, marginally better than the 10.22 offered by bwin.
