Fancy scooping £275 for just a £20 outlay? We certainly do and we think there’s a strong chance that we’ll do it this weekend, thanks to our friends at Pinnacle who are offering great value odds of 13.75 (12.75/1) about this weekend’s recommended lower league football accumulator bet. We’ve a team each from the Championship, League One and League Two, where we especially like the look of Northampton Town. Read on for more details…
1 – Birmingham City vs Hull City
Hull’s current best price of 2.88 with Pinnacle looks to be on the large side, given their current form. In their last seven Championship fixtures they have won five and lost twice – both of those coming to sides in the top three, so no disgrace there. This weekend’s opponents Birmingham will certainly not be troubling the top six any time soon and this could represent a good opportunity for the Tigers to bounce back from their last time out defeat to Cardiff.
Birmingham fans will not have anticipated sitting in 19th place midway through November, but this is the reality of their situation. Just two wins in their last eight league games (one of those coming against Bristol City who are rooted to the foot of the table, the other coming against crisis club Leeds) goes a long way to explaining their current position, as does the fact that only two sides in the Championship have scored fewer goals this term. I’m not really sure how the bookies have The Blues as favourites and Hull are a real value addition to this weekend’s football accumulator bets.
2 – Scunthorpe United vs Notts County
Much like the first of our accumulator bet selections, I’m mystified by the current price of Notts County (best price 2.50, Pinnacle). Keith Curle’s side currently sit fifth in League One, with only two teams having scored more goals in the league this season. They have lost just once in their last six and they have already beaten all of the other sides in the bottom five at this point in the season.
Scunthorpe United, who complete the bottom five lying as they do in 21st place, will surely be added to that list of sides conquered by Notts County. They are easily one of the worst teams in League One and I’m not particularly interested in the fact that they have won their last two matches. All they have beaten is an out of form Walsall side who everyone else is beating, plus a Coventry side that look in serious danger of joining Scunny in leaving League One in the wrong direction. Prior to this “turnaround in form”, Scunthorpe had failed to win in seven matches and their record against the rest of the top six this season reads Played 5, Lost 4, Drawn 1. Enough said I think, get County in your accumulator bets this weekend.
3 – Northampton Town vs Wycombe Wanderers
The Cobblers have bounced back from a wobble in form with convincing wins over Accrington and high flying Port Vale, plus a creditable point away at York. They will also see the return on top scorer Adebayo Akinfenwa, plus Ben Harding and Chris Hackett to the squad for this encounter, which can only enhance their chances of beating struggling Wycombe.
The Chairboys have really struggled this season and are in dreadful form, with just three wins all season and none in the last five games. Wycombe are League Two’s lowest scorers and I’m not convinced that they’ll suddenly find goals in this particular fixture. The current best price of 1.91 about Northampton (Pinnacle) looks like buying money at this stage and they seem an obvious addition to our football accumulator bets this weekend.
Pinnacle are the best bookmaker with which to place this week’s recommended lower league football accumulator bet, as they currently offer odds of 13.75 (12.75/1), a fraction better than nearest rivals BetVictor, with 13.68 (12.68/1). Place £20 on this accumulator bet with Pinnacle and you’ll net a cool £275.00 when it wins!
